1. SYSTEM
VERSION Check
1.
Press the VALUE control.
2.
Using the numeric keypad at the lower left of the top panel, enter the
upper 3 digits of the version number you noted in Verifying the Version
Number (p. 20).
3.
Press the VALUE control.
When OK appears, execution automatically advances to the next test.
MEMORY Check
The equipment's internal memory is checked automatically.
When OK appears, execution automatically advances to the next test.
* If NG ("not OK") appears, press SHIFT to go back to TEST MENU.
2. KEYBOARD
KEY LENGTH Set
Use the following procedure to set the number of keys on the keyboard.
1.
Press the lowest-pitched key.
The name of the lowest note appears on the LCD screen.
2.
Press the highest-pitched key.
The name of the highest note and the number of keys are displayed.
3.
Verify that the number of keys is correct.
A-800PRO: 61 keys
A-500PRO: 49 keys
A-300PRO: 32 keys
Execution automatically advances to the next test.
VELOCITY Check
1.
Finger the lowest-pitch key, first forcefully, then softly.
The note name and velocity are displayed.
2.
Verify that the note name of the played key is correct and that the
intensity of the velocity was sensed correctly.
* Velocity values of 0 to 64 are determined to be softly played notes, and values of
65 to 127 are determined to be forceful notes.If the velocity is not detected
correct, or if two or more keys are played at the same time, NG ("not OK") is
displayed.
When correct detection occurs, the remaining number of keys to check is
displayed.
* If NG ("not OK") appear, then instead of going on to the next key, keep checking
the same key until the displayed number of keys decreases.
3.
Repeat the procedure just described for all keys.
When testing of all keys ends, execution automatically advances to the
next test.

3. SW/LED
LED&SW Check
1.
Verify that A1 through A8 on the right side of the top panel are all
illuminated, then press the VALUE control.
One of the buttons from A1 to A8 lights up.
2.
Verify that the name of the illuminated button is displayed on the LCD
screen, then press the button.
The next button lights up.
3.
Repeat step 2 for all buttons from A1 to A8.
4.
Verify that L1 through L9 are all illuminated, then press the VALUE
control.
One of the buttons from L1 to L9 lights up.
5.
Verify that the name of the illuminated button is displayed on the LCD
screen, then press the button.
The next button lights up.
6.
Repeat step 5 for all buttons from L1 to L9.
7.
In the same way, for the buttons at the bottom left of the top panel, press
the VALUE control and verify that the buttons light up in succession.
8.
In the same way, perform verification by pressing
of the top panel when SELECT L appears and pressing
SELECT R appears.
9.
When MERGE appears, change the MERGE switch on the side panel
between ON and OFF.
10. When HOLD (P1) appears, depress the foot switch connected to the
HOLD jack, and verify that OK is displayed.
Execution automatically advances to the next test.
4. LCD/ENC
LCD Check
1.
Press the VALUE control and verify that all dots on the LCD screen are
displayed.
2.
Press the VALUE control again and verify that all dots on the LCD screen
go blank.
3.
Slowly turn the VALUE control clockwise, and verify that the contrast of
the LCD screen increases.
* Turning the control in the opposite direction before the end of the stroke is
reached causes NG ("not OK") to appear.
4.
When a sound is played, slowly turn the control counterclockwise and
verify that the contrast of the LCD screen decreases.
When OK appears, execution automatically advances to the next test.
5. RVR/SVR
RVR/SVR Check
1.
Turn the R1 control at the top left of the top panel clockwise, and verify
that the value displayed on the LCD screen increases.
When the control has been turned all the way, MAX appears on the LCD
screen.
2.
Turn the control counterclockwise and verify that the value displayed on
the LCD screen decreases.
When the control has been turned all the way, the name of the next
control appears.
* If NG ("not OK") appears, press SHIFT to go back to TEST MENU, then enter
this test item again.
3.
Verify the R2 through R9 controls in the same way.
4.
Verify the S1 through S9 controls in the same way.
5.
When P-2 appears, operate the expression pedal connected to the
EXPRESSION jack and carry out verification in the same way.
