Sh Expression Pedal Check
* Before the unit enters this test item, connect the expression pedal to the CTL
1,2/EXP jack.
This verifies the operation of the expression pedal.
1.
Connect the expression pedal to the CTL 1,2/EXP jack.
2.
Completely depress the toe and heel of the pedal and verify that the
display on the 7-segment LED display changes from 00 to 7F.
3.
Detach the expression pedal.
4.
Hold down EXIT and press MEMORY, and then follow the procedure of
Executing or Skipping Test Items (p. 15) to advance to the next test
item.
SA Audio Check
1.
Set the STEREO/MONO switch to MONO.
2.
Connect the oscillator to the GUITAR IN 1 jack and input a signal like the
following.
GUITAR IN 1:
200-Hz sine wave at 5 Vpp
3.
Connect the oscilloscope between HOT and GND and between COLD
and GND of the XLR OUT L connector.

4.
Verify that signals like the following are output from the XLR OUT L
connector.
XLR OUT L (HOT):
200-Hz sine wave at 5±0.3 Vpp
XLR OUT L (COLD): 200-Hz sine wave at 5±0.3 Vpp (reverse phase)
5.
Connect the oscilloscope between HOT and GND and between COLD
and GND of the XLR OUT R connector, and verify that signals like the
following are output.
XLR OUT R (HOT):
200-Hz sine wave at 5±0.3 Vpp
XLR OUT R (COLD): 200-Hz sine wave at 5±0.3 Vpp (reverse phase)
6.
Connect the oscillator to the GUITAR IN 2 jack and input a signal like the
following.
GUITAR IN 2:
200-Hz sine wave at 5 Vpp
7.
Connect the oscilloscope to the LINE OUT L/PHONES and R/MONO
jacks.
* When the oscilloscope is connected to only one jack, connect a dummy plug to
another jack.
* Connect the oscilloscope between Tip and GND of each jack.
8.
Verify that signals like the following are output from the LINE OUT L/
PHONES and R/MONO jacks.
LINE OUT L:
200-Hz sine wave at 5±0.3 Vpp
LINE OUT R:
200-Hz sine wave at 5±0.3 Vpp
9.
Connect the oscilloscope to the LINE OUT L/PHONES jack.
* Connect it between Tip and Sleeve, and between Ring and Sleeve.
* Connect nothing to the LINE OUT R/MONO jack.
10. Verify that signals like the following are output from the LINE OUT L/
PHONES jacks.
LINE OUT L (Tip):
200-Hz sine wave at 5±0.3 Vpp
LINE OUT L (Ring):
200-Hz sine wave at 5±0.3 Vpp
11. Connect the oscillator to the RETURN jack and input a signal like the
following.
RETURN:
200-Hz sine wave at 5 Vpp
12. Connect the oscilloscope to the SEND jack and verify that a signal like the
following is output.
SEND:
200-Hz sine wave at 5±0.3 Vpp
SA Noise check
1.
Verify that the STEREO/MONO switch is set at MONO.
2.
Set the both INPUT SENS knobs and all knobs on the top cover to the
minimum.
3.
Press
three times to display 40 on the 7-segment LED display.
4.
Connect the 1/4-inch monaural phone plugs with 47-kΩ load resistors to
the GUITAR IN 1, GUITAR IN 2 and RETURN jacks.
5.
Verify that the residual noises at respective jacks are as follows.
XLR OUT L (HOT-GND):
XLR OUT L (COLD-GND):
XLR OUT R (HOT-GND):
XLR OUT R (COLD-GND):
LINE OUT L:
LINE OUT R:
SEND:
GND LIFT Check
1.
Set the GND switch on the rear panel to NOR.
2.
Using a tester, verify that GND of the XLR OUT L connector and GND of
the LINE OUT L/PHONES (or R/MONO) jacks have continuity.

3.
Verify that GND of the XLR OUT R connector and GND of the LINE OUT
L/PHONES (or R/MONO) jacks have continuity.
4.
Set the GND switch to LIFT.
5.
Verify that GND of the XLR OUT L connector and GND of the LINE OUT
L/PHONES (or R/MONO) jacks do not have continuity.
6.
Verify that GND of the XLR OUT R connector and GND of the LINE OUT
L/PHONES (or R/MONO) jacks do not have continuity.
