CONTROL ASSEMBLY

Replacement (Fig. 8)
1.
D isconnect the b attery ground cable.
2.
D isconnect the blow er sw itch w iring harness connector at
the low er side o f th e control.
3.
Rem ove the tw o control to instru m en t panel m ounting
screws and carefully low er the con tro l far enough to gain
access to the bow den cable attachm ents.

4.
D isconnect the three bow den cables, the control illum i­
natio n bulb, and remove the control from the vehicle.
5.
Remove th e blow er sw itch screws and rem ove th e blow er
sw itch.
6. T o install, reverse Steps 1-5 above.
N O T E :
reinstalling the control
screw.
CONTROL CABLES
Replacement (Fig. 9)
1. D isconnect the b attery ground cable.
2.
U nsnap th e engine cover fro n t latches. Remove the tw o
cover to floorpan screws and remove the cover.
3.
Remove th e left d istrib u to r d u ct attaching screw and
remove the duct.
4.
Defroster Cable
to dash panel (2) screws.
5.
Pry o ff the cable eyelet clip at b o th the door and control
lever. Rem ove the cable attaching screw at b o th door and
co n tro l locations.
6. A tta ch a 4 ' piece o f wire to the door end o f the cable.
Place protective tape around the cable m ounting tab and
attach ed wire an d carefully pull the cable from the
vehicle. Rem ove th e tape and disconnect the 4 ' piece o f
wire.
N O T E :
on the radio speaker bracket to get clearance for
cable removal.
