Symptom
You cannot copy pictures to the
Windows computer.
[Cannot start Easy Handycam with
USB connected] or [Cannot cancel
Easy Handycam with USB
connected] appears on the screen of
your camcorder.
There is no sound when the
camcorder is connected to the
Windows computer via a USB cable.
The movie is not smooth during USB
streaming.
Picture Package does not function
correctly.
An error message appears while
operating Picture Package.
The CD-R drive is not recognized or
data cannot be written on the CD-R in
Picture Package Auto Video,
Producer, CD Backup or VCD
Maker.
[USB Streaming... This function is
not available.] appears on the screen
of your camcorder.

Troubleshooting
Cause and/or Corrective Actions
cDisplay pictures recorded on a "Memory Stick" with the following
procedures:

Double-click [My Computer].

Double-click the icon for the newly recognized drive
[Removable Disk (F:)] (For Windows XP, [Sony Memory
Stick]).
It may take some time until the drive is recognized. If the
computer does not recognize it, the USB driver may be
installed incorrectly.

Double-click the desired image file.
cYou cannot start or cancel the simple operation settings while the USB
cable is connected. Disconnect the USB cable from your camcorder first.
cChange the settings for your computer environment as described in the
following procedures:

Select [Start], [Programs] ([All Programs] for Windows
XP), [Picture Package], [Handycam Tools], and [USB
Streaming Tool], then start up [USB Streaming Tool].

Select another device on the [Select audio device] screen.

Follow the on-screen instructions, click [Next], then click
[Done].

• Sound is not supported on Windows 98.
cChange the settings as described in the following procedures:

Select [Start], [Programs] ([All Programs] for Windows
XP), [Picture Package], [Handycam Tools], and [USB
Streaming Tool], then start up [USB Streaming Tool].

Adjust the slider in the (-) direction on [Select video
quality].

Follow the on-screen instructions, click [Next], then click
[Done].
cClose Picture Package, then restart the Windows computer.
cClose Picture Package on your Windows computer first, then set the
POWER switch on your camcorder to another mode.

cStart the operations for MEMORY MIX, recording or playing back
pictures recorded on a "Memory Stick" after USB Streaming is finished.
