Press the Main Menu key to open the main
menu. Soft key labels show the current soft
key functions. For soft key locations, see
page 1.
Press the Options key in the home screen to
take a picture, create a text message, change
the alert profile, or customize the appearance
of the home screen.
Press S up, down, left, or right in the home
screen to open basic features. You can show
or hide icons for these features in the home
screen, and change the icons that are shown
(for more information about changing icons in
the home screen, see page 78).
Status indicators can show at the top of the
home screen:

Indicator – Vertical bars show the
strength of the network connection. You
can't make or receive calls when the no
