3.4.1 System configuration

The following section describes how to change or insert the network configuration, keyboard properties, user
properties or passwords.
To change the configuration log in as root and start the configuration utility. The factory set password for root is
barco:
eos login: root
Password: barco
Enter linuxconf.
eos:/root # linuxconf
Navigate within the configuration window by using the Tab key and the arrow keys. A + in front of a folder sig-
nificates the folder is open, a – significates the folder is closed. Select the folder by putting the focus on it (
up key and Arrow down key) and confirming with the Enter key to change it's state An arrow after a word sig-
nalizes that there is a list hidden. Open the list by putting the focus on the word and pressing <Ctrl> X. Put
the focus on a list item to select it and confirm.
There are also help files available. Each window contains a Help button. The Help button of the main window
offers general help. The Help buttons of the sub windows offer help, concerning the content of the sub window.
