WARNING: If the blade comes in contact with the workpiece before it
reaches full speed, it could cause the saw to kickback towards you, possibly
resulting in serious injury.
9.
After completing your cut, release the trigger switch and allow the blade
to come to a complete stop in the cut. Do not remove the saw from the
workpiece while the blade is moving. It will damage your cut and could
cause kickback.
10. Lift the saw from the workpiece.
Cutting with an edge guide
(available separately)
(Figs. 15 and 16)
NOTICE: The edge guide can be
used on the left or right side of
the blade.
1.
Disconnect the circular saw
from the power source before
attaching the edge guide.
2.
Position the edge guide so
that
the arm with the ruler
side is facing up. Slide
the arm of the edge guide
through the mounting slots at
the front of the saw base.
3.
Adjust the edge guide to the
desired width of cut.
4.
Tighten the edge-guide
lock knob.
5.
Plug the saw to power source.
6.
Rest the front edge of the
base on the workpiece,
without the blade touching
the workpiece, then depress
the lock-off button and squeeze the trigger switch to start the saw.
7.
Allow the blade to reach full speed, and then guide the saw into the
workpiece. Keep the edge guide against the workpiece as you make the cut.
8.
When using an edge guide, position the face of the
the edge of the workpiece. This will help make a true cut without binding the
blade. The edge of the workpiece must be straight for the cut to be straight.
Use caution to prevent the blade from binding in the cut (Fig. 16).
9.
After completing your cut, release the trigger switch and allow the blade
to come to a complete stop in the cut. Do not remove the saw from the
workpiece while the blade is moving. It will damage your cut and could
cause kickback.
10. Lift the saw from the workpiece.
