Glossary

Background Printing
Allows you to use other applications while one or
more print jobs are executing in the background.
Banner Printing
Allows you to print a long party or advertising banner
on one continuous sheet of paper for horizontal or
vertical display.
BIOS
Denotes Basic Input/Output Subsystem which
contains the core, built-in code required to boot your
system and support simple input/output processing.
BJ Background Monitor
Displayed when printing in the background mode to
keep you informed about the status of the print job
printing in the background and status of print jobs
queued for printing.
BJ Backgrounder
Displayed when printing in the background mode to
keep you informed about the progress of job printing
in the background.
BJ Printer Monitor
Recognises and monitors the status of the printer
selected for the print job to keep you informed about
the status of the printer (ink tank level, errors, etc.).
This feature is convenient when you have more than
one printer connected to your system.
BJ Status Monitor
A part of the printer driver which monitors the status of
print jobs as they execute and reports errors and
alerts as they occur.
Booklet Printing
Convenient for printing pages that you want to bind
like a book. The pages printed on both sides can be
folded and bound so the pages will be ordered and
numbered correctly after they are bound, just like a
book or magazine.
Brightness
Adjusts the contrast among intermediate tones that
fall between black and white (without affecting black
or white). The higher the selection, the overall image
becomes darker with stronger contrast in light areas,
and weaker contrast in the dark areas.
