Getting to know the ip8300

Telephone base layout

1. FIND HANDSET
2. POWER

This button can be used to locate
misplaced handsets. When the
button is pressed, the handset
will ring to help you track it down.
To stop the tone, press OFF
on the handset, or press FIND
HANDSET on the telephone
base again.
A steady red light indicates the
device is powered on.
A blinking orange light indicates
that there are new voicemail
messages. If the light is off, there
are no new voicemail messages.
A blinking orange light indicates
that there is an incoming call. A
steady orange light indicates that
the telephone line is in use. If the
light is off, the telephone line is
not in use.

5. INFO
A blinking orange light indicates that
the telephone has an IP address from
the broadband router, but cannot
communicate with the Internet. A
steady orange light indicates that
the device is communicating with
the Internet and is ready to be used.
If the light is off, the device failed to
obtain an IP address.
6. INTERNET
A blinking orange light indicates a
good connection and activity on the
ethernet port. A steady orange light
indicates a good connection to the
broadband router. If the light is off,
check the physical connections for
the ethernet port.
7. RESET
Press the reset while the telephone
base is powered on to reboot
the system. Press and hold the
reset button while the telephone
base is powered on to reset all
configurable parameters back to
factory default settings except the
handset registration parameters
and perform a software reboot.

Connects to your home

Connects to your broadband
enabled router to access the
Internet.
10. POWER PORT
Connects to the telephone
base power adapter, and the
telephone base power adapter
conncect to an electrical outlet
to provide power to the unit.
