Alignment
PLL Section
PLL Reference Frequency
r Connect the wattmeter, dummy load and frequency
counter to the antenna jack, then set the transceiver to
128.000 MHz; now turn the transceiver off.
r Press and hold in the PTT switch, MONITOR switch,
and
key while turning the transceiver on to enter
the alignment mode.
r Rotate the DIAL selector knob to select "RX TUNE xxx."
r Press the PTT switch, and confirm that the counter
reading is 128.000.00 MHz.
r If not:
1. Press the
key momentarily;
2. Rotate the DIAL selector knob clockwise (frequency
up) or counter-clockwise (frequency down);
3. Press and hold the
4. Confirm the counter reading.
r Repeat above steps 1 - 4, so that the counter reading is
128.000.00 MHz (±100 Hz).
r Turn the transceiver off.

AM TX HI Power Adjustment
r Connect the wattmeter and dummy load to the an-
tenna jack, then set the transceiver to 128.000 MHz
and turn the transceiver off.
r Press and hold in the PTT switch, MONITOR switch,
and
key while turning the transceiver on to enter
the alignment mode.
r Rotate the DIAL selector knob to select "AM TX Hi xxx."
r Press the PTT switch with no microphone input, and
confirm that the RF output power is 1.5 Watts.
r If not:
1. Press the
key momentarily;
2. Rotate the DIAL selector knob clockwise (increases the
power) or counter-clockwise (decreases the power);
3. Press and hold the
4. Confirm the RF output power.
r Repeat steps 1 - 4, as necessary, until you achieve the
specified RF output power of 1.5 Watts.
r Turn the transceiver off, then back on again, to pro-
ceed to the next step.
AM TX LOW Power Adjustment
r Connect the wattmeter and dummy load to the an-
tenna jack, then set the transceiver to 128.000 MHz
and turn the transceiver off.
r Reduce the power supply voltage to 4.8 V.
r Press and hold in the PTT switch, MONITOR switch,
and
key while turning the transceiver on to enter
the alignment mode.
r Rotate the DIAL selector knob to select "AM TX Lo xxx."
r Press the PTT switch with no microphone input, and
confirm that the RF output power is 0.3 Watts.
r If not:
1. Press the
key momentarily;
2. Rotate the DIAL selector knob clockwise (increases the
power) or counter-clockwise (decreases the power);
3. Press and hold the
4. Confirm the RF output power.
r Repeat steps 1 - 4, as necessary, until you achieve the
specified RF output power of 0.3 Watts.
r Return the power supply voltage to 7.4 V.
r Turn the transceiver off.
