If you have
problems, first try to
reset the scanner
(see "Resetting the
Scanner" on
Page 38). If that
does not work, you
can initialize the
scanner (see
"Initializing the
Scanner !" on
Page 39); however,
this clears all
information stored in
your scanner's
memory.

You might hear one of your regular
stations on another frequency that
is not listed. For example, you
might find a service that regularly
uses a frequency of 453.275 also
on 474.675 MHz. Do the following
to determine if you are listening to
an image frequency:
Note the new frequency
Double the intermediate frequency
of 10.7 MHz
and subtract it from the new
frequency
If the answer is the regular
frequency
then you have tuned to an image.
Occasionally, you might get
interference on a weak or distant
channel from a strong
transmission 21.4 MHz above or
below the tuned frequency. This is
rare, and the image signal is
usually cleared whenever there is

a transmission on the actual
frequency.

If the scanner's display locks up or
does not work properly after you
connect a power source, you
might need to reset or initialize the
scanner.
