The slim Express5800/120Ra-1 is a rack-dense server designed to deliver excellent performance in a
limited space. It is an easy-to-deploy, general-purpose solution ideal for ASP/ISPs, dot-coms, and
enterprises looking for a front-end Web-application server or a network infrastructure server.
The Express5800/120Ra-1 is housed in a compact 1U rack-optimized chassis. Built on the ServerWorks
â
ServerSet™ III LE chipset, which supports a 133MHz front-side bus and dual-peer PCI, it employs Intel
â
Pentium
III processors with FC-PGA packaging and high-performance ECC-protected SDRAM
memory.
The Express5800/120Ra-1 supports up to two Intel Pentium III processors, with 256KB of on-die
Advanced Transfer L2 cache. The server offers up to 4GB of SDRAM memory (four DIMM sockets)
with ECC protection and two available 64-bit/33MHz PCI slots for easy expandability. Embedded
Ultra160 SCSI controllers and integrated dual-channel auto-sensing 10/100Mbps Ethernet also provide
outstanding performance and flexible network configuration.

The Express5800/120Ra-1 accepts two internal hot-swap drives (72GB
maximum) with Ultra160
technology, for transfer rates up to 160MBps. Several external disk expansion units are also available.
Designed for easy installation and manageability, the Express5800/120Ra-1 comes standard with

EXPRESSBUILDER setup and configuration software and ESMPRO
management software, a suite of
software tools to monitor, analyze, and manage NEC servers. Management Workstation Application
(MWA) is a hardware/software combination that permits remote control of server resources via a LAN or
standard modem connection. It provides features such as remote power control, remote event log access,
and remote console redirection, regardless of the state of the operating system or the network. This
eliminates expensive remote-management add-in cards found on competitive systems.
