Before Using For the
First Time
The washing machine must have been installed
and connected properly (refer to page 39).
Before beginning to use your washing machine for
the first time:
q Make sure the voltage the washing machine
is to operate on is the same as shown on the
rating plate.
q Check to make sure that the water valves to the
washing machine are open.
Using For the First
Time
Your appliance was tested before leaving the
factory. To remove any water left over from testing
procedures, the first washing cycle should be
carried out without laundry in the machine.
q Do not load any laundry.
q Turn on water tap.
q Pull out the detergent dispenser up to the final
stop.
q Pour approx. 1 liter/1 quart of water into
chamber II of the detergent dispenser.
q Fill the measuring cup with detergent half and
pour into chamber II.
i Do not use any special detergents for delicates
or wool (excessive foam).
q Close the detergent dispenser.
q Close the loading door.
q Set the program selector to Cotton Power
temp. boost.
The Start/Pause indicator light flashes (red).
q Press the Start/Pause button.
The program starts.
The indicator light is on (red).

i The individual program steps are indicated in
the display field.
When Remove laundry" is displayed:
q Turn the program selector to Off.

Selecting the language

i The program selector must not be set to Off.
i The language must be selected before
a program is started.
q Simultaneously press the Menu and Select
buttons and hold down (5 seconds) until the
current setting is displayed.
q Press the Select button until the required
language - e.g. English - is displayed.
q Confirm the language selection by pressing the
Menu button.
i The selected setting is retained after the wash
cycle.
