Configuring for Client-Side GUI Access
Use the commands below to set up a secure server, allowing configuration from the client
side ("Network" port).
myDevice> attach
myDevice> enable
myDevice# configure
(config[myDevice])> ssl
(config-ssl[myDevice])> server web create
(config-ssl-server[web])> ip address 127.0.0.1
(config-ssl-server[web])> sslport 443

Type https:// and the appliance's IP address in the Address text box of the browser, and
press Enter. You will receive a security alert dialog. Click Yes to proceed. If prompted,
indicate that you wish to accept the certificate for this session only. You can proceed with
configuration.s
Take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the screen layout. On the left is a panel
with links to the six main configuration areas.
General: View appliance status, set device-specific information, specify appliance
configuration access, set passwords, and view performance statistics
Network: Set device IP information and manage Ethernet interfaces, view network
statistics, view ARP information, view and add to the routing table
Log: Set syslog message hosts and clear and view the appliance's message log
Tools: reboot the appliance, manage running and startup configurations, and
update firmware
SSL: view SSL status and statistics and configure SSL (secure) servers, private
keys, certificates, certificate chains, and security policies
SNMP: view and configure SNMP traps

General Configuration Examples

The following examples demonstrate how to use the GUI to configure general appliance
settings.
Note:
To save time, make all the changes you wish, then click Save Changes to write
the configuration to the appliances' flash memory.
