VII. Troubleshooting

Problem
No sound
Only sound, no
picture
No response
Remote
control
does not work
Cannot play disc
Poor
playing
quality (distorted
picture/sound)
Connect the audio cables into the jacks securely.
Verify the connection from the DVD audio output to the
TV or receiver audio input. Make sure the correct AUDIO
input is selected on your TV or amplifier.
Refer to your audio amplifier documentation.
The scan mode of video output is incorrectly set. Press
PSCAN on the remote control to switch to correct mode.
Connect the power plug into the wall outlet securely.
Time recording is proceeding. Press POWER or STOP to
cancel time recording.
The appliance might encounter a technical failure.
Unplug the power cord and wait for 30 seconds before
connecting it to the wall outlet again. If it still doesn't
work, try to reset the Easy DVD to factory settings.
The remote control is not pointing to the Easy DVD.
Please aim at the Easy DVD.
Batteries are low, replace them.
The appliance might encounter a technical failure.
Unload batteries, wait for 30 seconds before place them
back into the remote control.
The disc is blank, replace it.
Incompatible disc: please check the "Disc specifications"
in this guide.
The disc is loaded with label side down. Load the disc
with label side up.
The region code does not match the region setting of
the Easy DVD.
Parental lock is on, unlock it. Default password is 3308.
Choose channel number on the TV set. Choose a correct
channel number.
The connection between the DVD recorder and TV set is
loose. Check the connection.
The TV set is not properly adjusted.
The disc is dirty, clean it.
