Your writing is more
readily recognized if
you write neatly. Also,
write large: Larger
handwriting is
recognized more easily
than small, cramped
handwriting.

Handwriting Recognition (Windows Operating Systems
Only)
If you'd rather not type, just press on the SMART Keyboard's Write button, and the
Handwriting Recognition window* will appear. Next, pick up a stylus (or just use your finger),
and write in the Writing Recognition area. You'll find that your handwritten or printed letters,
numbers and punctuation are quickly and automatically converted into typed text in the
Editing Area.
A number of editing tools are available to let you alter the converted text before you commit
it to the active application.
TIPS
If the Handwriting Recognition window seems too large, you can select a smaller-sized
version. Just press on the Typewriter icon on the left edge of the title bar and select
Small View.
If you're writing mainly numbers, we suggest you first press the NUM key in the Edit
toolbar (not the Num Lock key on a connected, physical keyboard) for more accurate
number recognition. You must press the NUM key again when you return to writing
letters.
