Detonation Elimination Technology (D.E.T.)
Some Polaris snowmobiles are equipped with a
detonation sensor that monitors the engine and
responds to detonation by automatically reducing
the engine timing. When activated, the
"DETONATION FLASH" indicator (A) will flash
in the lower right-hand area of the
tachometer. The activated sensor reduces
engine detonation by retarding the
ignition timing. This results in decreased
engine RPM and performance.

D.E.T. Troubleshooting

Use this chart to determine causes and solutions for detonation. If
none of these conditions exists and the sensor remains activated, see
your Polaris dealer.
