Automatic climate control
This system automatically controls the air
flow distribution and the temperature level
inside the car, according to the occupants
wishes. The distribution and mixture of cool
and warm air is electronically regulated and
kept constant, regardless of weather condi-
tions.
Manual controls
Fan speed control - rotary switch knob
The air volume is controlled by a 4-speed
fan. When the ignition is turned on, the fan
automatically operates at low speed, even
with the switch in OFF position. By turning
the knob clockwise, fan speeds 1-4 can be
selected to increase the air volume.
Temperature control - upper lever
Move lever to desired temperature setting.
Program control - lower lever
OFF
-climate control system and fan
motor off.
ECO
- automatic air flow distribution for
heating system only. Cooling is
not possible, since the air comp-
ressor will not be activated to eco-
nomize on fuel consumption.
AUTO - automatic air flow distribution for
heating and air conditioning system
under normal weather conditions.
Air will flow mainly out of the foot-
well nozzles and center air vents.
Center air vents can be closed
manually if desired.
Bl
-same automatic controls as in
AUTO position with open wind-
shield nozzles in addition to open
footwell and center air outlets. This
program position is recommended
for humid or rainy weather and
during snowfalls, to keep the wind-
shield from fogging or frosting.
-this program position allow for
quick defogging/defrosting. The
heating system and the fan motor
are automatically switched to
maximum output and high speed,
and the entire warm airflow will be
directed toward windshield and
side windows.
Note:
A cold start shut-off system will prevent un-
heated air from entering the car through the
footwell nozzles. At engine coolant tempera-
tures below 113° F/45° C, the air flow is
automatically directed toward the wind-
shield. At engine coolant temperatures
above 113°F/45° C, the automatic climate
control system resumes normal operation.
