For message recording, your telephone has a built-in answering system, and
it also support voicemail service offered by your telephone service provider
(subscription is required, and fee may apply).
The main differences between them are as follows:
Storage
Messages are stored in the telephone base.
Maximum
This depends on the design of telephone
number of
base. You cannot change the maximum
messages
number of messages that can be recorded.
Method
Usually, there are two ways to retrieve messages:

Your answering system has various features, read below for the basic settings.
Default settings are indicated by asterisks(*).
Play, record, or delete an announcement for
incoming calls.
Delete all old (reviewed) messages.
Record a memo as reminders for yourself or others
using the answering system.
Turn on or off the answering system.
Follow audio instructions to set basic features.
Change the settings of call screening, number of rings,
remote code, or message alert alone.
Call screening
Set whether you hear the callers while they are leaving
messages to you.

Set the number of times the telephone rings before the
answering system answers.
Remote code
Set a two-digit security code to access the answering
system remotely from any touch-tone telephone.
Msg alert alone
Set to alert you when you have new messages.
