Browsing the Web

Connecting to the Internet

You can connect to the Internet by using GPRS/HSPA or Wi-Fi. Before connecting to the
Internet by GPRS/HSPA you need the correct Internet settings in the phone. The settings
are usually saved on the SIM card the first time you start up the phone after inserting the
SIM card. If not, you can download settings automatically, or contact your service provider
to get the required information for entering the settings manually.
Automatical download of settings may not be available in all markets.
To download Internet settings

Select
> Settings > Connections > Connection setup.

Select OK.
To configure Internet settings manually
To get the required information for manual configuration of Internet settings, please contact your
service provider.
Select
> Settings > Connections > Connections.

Under My ISP, tap Add a new modem connection.

Enter a name for the connection, then select GPRS (Cellular line) in the drop-down
box, then tap Next.

Enter the Access point name, then tap Next.

If required, enter User name, Password, Domain and Advanced settings. Tap
Finish.

Under My ISP, tap Manage existing connections and select the connection you
just created.
To start browsing

Tap
> Internet Explorer.

Enter the Web address in the address field, and then tap

Menu options

Tap
to open a menu with useful options.
The following icons at the bottom of the screen provide a lot of options for Internet Explorer:
Icon Description
Go back to the previous page
Manage your favorite Web sites
Options for entering text. See Entering text on page 17.
Zoom in or out on the Web page
A list of sub options: Home page – Takes you back to the main page; History – View a list of recently
visited Web sites; Refresh – Reload the current Web site; View (see Viewing options); Tools (see Tools
options); Copy/Paste.
Viewing options
From the View submenu, you can change the way that you view Web pages in Internet
Explorer to minimize scrolling and increase the page download speed.
Text size - lets you select the text size.
Enable ActiveX Controls – lets you enable interactive Web sites via ActiveX.
