Troubleshooting the power unit
Troubleshooting the power unit (trouble code not available)
The trouble shooting when a trouble code is not available consists of the following 4 items.
Symptom 1: Specific trouble conditions.
Symptom 2: Trouble conditions of an area or individual part.
Cause 1: The content considered as the trouble factors of symptom 2.
Cause 2: The content considered as the trouble causes of cause 1 (described if necessary).

Cause 1
Gear shift not in the
neutral position
Broken spiral spring
Start-in-gear protection
system malfunction
Discharged battery
Loose connection of
battery terminal
Short, open, or loose
connection in starter
motor circuit
Cause 2
Checking step
Shift the gear shift lever
to neutral.
Disassemble and
check the spiral spring.
Check and adjust or
replace the start-in-
gear protection cable.
Shift the remote control
lever to neutral.
Check the battery for
electrolyte level, gravity
and voltage.
Check the battery
terminal connection.
Check the fuse (20A).
Check the starter relay.
Check the engine start
switch.
Check the wiring har-
ness continuity.
Disassemble and
check the starter motor.
