5. REPLACEMENT OF BATTERY: MODULE QW-5311

5-1. OPEN DISPLAY

This model is equipped with EEPROM. The display comes into the status shown below when the back
cover is open.
• The hour-, minute-, and second-hands are in normal operation
• The mode hand stops at the 30° position
• Button operations are disabled
Returns to the usual display when the cover is closed.

5-2. AC (ALL CLEAR)

• Be sure to perform AC (All Clear) after a battery is replaced. Unless AC is performed, the memory(s)
and/or counter(s) may not be initialized and cause malfunctions.
• A quick-start circuit is equipped.
Expose the dial to the light BEFORE AND AFTER performing AC.

5-2-1. Procedures
1) Expose the dial to the light.
2) Touch the AC contact and the main plate with metallic tweezers.
The contact should be made for about two seconds.
3) Close the back cover.
4) Expose the dial to the light.

6) Confirm that the watch is operating in the Timekeeping mode.
* Once activated by Quick Start, A finished product has several states, such as "charging" (the
second hand indicates 57 seconds).
