ASSEMBLY STEP 1

Attach the Rail to the Operator

To avoid installation diffi culties, do not run the door
operator until instructed to do so.
1. Place the operator on packing material to protect the
cover.
2. Remove the (2) 5/16"-18x1/2" washered bolts mounted in
the top of the motor unit.
3. Position rail at a 45° angle to operator so one hole in rail
and motor unit line up.
4. Thread one of the washered bolts part way in.
Use only these bolts! Use of any other bolts will cause
serious damage to door operator.
5. Align rail over sprocket. Cut tape from rail.
NOTE: The 14' (4.27 m) rail extension kit requires additional
assembly. Refer to the instructions provided with the
extension kit.
ASSEMBLY STEP 2
Attach the Chain to the Sprocket and
Install the Rail Support Bracket
1. Guide the chain over chain spreader and operator
sprocket. If necessary, loosen the outer nut on the trolley
to obtain more chain slack. Insert the second washered
bolt. Use only the bolts previously removed from
operator.
2. Tighten both bolts securely through the rail into the
operator as shown.
3. Position the rail support bracket on the operator.
4. Attach the bracket to the rail with 5/16"-18x7/8" hex bolts
and lock washers. DO NOT overtighten.
5. Attach the bracket to the operator by inserting a
5/16"-18x1/2" washered bolt through a hole in each side
fl ange and a matching hole in the bracket. Complete the
connection by inserting the #8-32x3/8" screw through the
back fl ange and the hole in rail support.
Proceed to Assembly Step 3.

To avoid SERIOUS damage to operator, use ONLY those
bolts/fasteners mounted in the top of the operator.

• ALWAYS keep hand clear of sprocket while operating
operator.
• SECURELY attach rail support bracket BEFORE
operating.
