Trouble
Skipping stitch
Machine does not
feed fabric.
Breaking needle

TROUBLE SHOOTING
Cause
1. Needle is not inserted properly.
2. Needle is bent or blunt.
3. Needle thread is not threaded
properly.
4. Size of needle is not appropriate
to thread or fabric.
5. A stretch fabric is being sewn
6. Needle bar height is not
appropriate.
7. Hook timing is not correct.
8. Clearance between needle and
hook is not appropriate.
1. Feed dog height is not enough.
2. Thread is jammed in the back of
fabric
3. Feed dog is worn out.
1. Sewing speed is too high when
starting to sew.
2. Needle thread is not threaded
properly.
3. Needle is bent or blunt.
4. Needle thread tension is too tight.
5. Size of needle is not appropriate
to thread or fabric.
6. Faulty needle.
7. Scar or burr in needle plate.
8. Thread being used is not suitable.
1. Bobbin thread is not threaded
properly
2. Too much bobbin thread.
3. Lint is piled up in shuttle race.
4. Thread being used is not suitable.
5. Bobbin is tangled with thread.
6. Bobbin thread tension is too tight.
Remedy
Insert a needle flat side to the
back.
Replace with a new needle.
Rethread the needle thread.
Use appropriate size of needle.
Use blue tip needle.
Adjust the needle bar height
see page 16.
Adjust the hook timing see
page 17.
Adjust the clearance see page
15.
Adjust the feed dog height
Draw the needle and bobbin
threads to the left under the
presser foot when starting to
sew.
Replace with a new feed dog.
Start to sew slowly.
Rethread the needle thread.
Replace with a new needle.
Adjust the tension see page 7.
Use appropriate size of needle.
Replace with a new needle.
Remove scar or burr.
Use high quality sewing
machine thread.
Rethread the bobbin thread.
Adjust the bobbin winder
stopper position.
Remove the lint.
Use high quality sewing
machine thread.
Remove the tangled thread.
Adjust the bobbin thread
tension see page 8.
