Filling Chain Oil Tank

Check oil level before starting work,
N
while sawing, and each time the
battery is changed
Refill chain oil at the latest every
N
second time the battery is changed
If the oil tank is still partly full, the reason
may be a problem in the oil supply
system: Check chain lubrication, clean
the oil passages, contact your servicing
dealer for assistance if necessary.
STIHL recommends that all
maintenance and repairs be carried out
by STIHL servicing dealers
Oil filler cap
Thoroughly clean the filler cap and

the area around it to ensure that no
dirt falls into the tank
Always position the machine so that
N
the filler cap is facing upwards

Opening
Swing the clip into an upright
N
position
Turn the cap counterclockwise
N
(approx. 1/4 turn)
Remove fuel filler cap
N
Filling Chain Oil Tank
Take care not to spill chain oil during
refilling and do not overfill the tank.
STIHL recommends use of the STIHL
filling system for chain oil (special
accessory).

Closing
Clip is in an upright position:
Fit the cap – position marks on the

cap and the filling port must line up
Push the cap down as far as it will
N

Hold the cap down and twist it

clockwise until it engages
