PA / antenna switch module problem:
First of all check whether 897.4MHz TX-signal at the
input of antenna switch Z800 is measurable with level
according to the TX power level adjusted with Phoenix.
Signal looks similar to the one measured at R717.
If no or too low TX-signal is measurable, check signals the power amplifier N700 needs for proper
function:
check VBAT ~4VDC at both sides of L700
-
check Vtxb_900 2.8Vpp at C532 and Vpctrl_900 at C712. Note that amplitude of
-
Vpctrl_900 varies between 0.9Vpp and 1.5Vpp depending on TX power level!
If the above mentioned signals are ok, most probably the power amplifier N700 is defect.
Exchange part with BGA rework system and rework jig/stencil. Remember to realign TX
tuning values after having exchanged N700!
In case that 897.4MHz TX signal at the input of antenna switch Z800 is ok, check same signal at
testpoint J746. If signal is not ok, most probably the antenna switch module is defect, or the signal
that enables the antenna switch TX path is missing. Check Vc3 2.7Vpp at Z800; appearance is the
same as Vtxb_900 shown in the middle of this page. It also is possible that RF-connector X822 is
damaged. Therefore, check signal before and after the connector with help of an analyzer, or
exchange the connector!
