Grease filters and edge
extraction panel
The edge extraction panel and the re-
usable metal grease filter in the
appliance remove solid particles
(grease, dust, etc.) from the kitchen
vapors, preventing soiling of the
ventilation hood.
A dirty filter is a fire hazard!
Cleaning intervals
Grease which has collected in the
ventilation hood hardens over time and
makes cleaning more difficult. It is
therefore recommended that the edge
extraction panel and the grease filter be
cleaned regularly (at least every 3–4
weeks) to avoid a build-up of grease.
Clean the edge extraction panels and
grease filter immediately if the grease
filter symbol  on the filter saturation
indicator lights up.
 You can adjust the interval for the
filter saturation indicator to match
your cooking habits (see
"Operation").
Cleaning and care
Removing the panel and grease
filters
The panel and grease filter can fall
out when you are handling them.
This can result in damage.
Make sure you hold the panel and
the grease filters securely at all times
when handling them.
 Pull the panel out of the holder at the
bottom, press it back a little at the
top, then unhook it and carefully lift it
out.
 Release the locking clip on the
grease filter, allow it to swing out
towards you slightly, then unhook it
and take it out.
