Remove terminal cover from battery terminals (1).
8.
Loosen battery terminal clamps (1).
9.
Loosen screw on negative terminal (black cable).
10. Loosen screw t on positive terminal (red cable).
11. Install parts in reverse order.
12. Make sure that the battery cage sockets/plugs have been correctly
refitted. A polarity diagram is located in each battery box cover.
Front battery
1.
The battery box socket is located at the front (flange central).
2.
Socket side A is on the left in the direction of travel.
3.
Socket side B is on the right in the direction of travel.
4.
The battery box plug is located at the rear (flange flush).
5.
Plug side A is on the left in the direction of travel.
6.
Plug side B is on the right in the direction of travel.
7.
Rear battery
1.
The battery box socket is located at the front (flange central).
2.
Socket side A is on the left in the direction of travel.
3.
Socket side B is on the right in the direction of travel.

The battery needs to be inserted tightly into the battery case.
Use the foam sections supplied.
5.
Test all functions.
How to handle damaged batteries correctly
CAUTION!
Corrosion and burns from acid leakage if batteries
are damaged
– Remove clothes that have been soiled by acid
immediately.
After contact with skin:
– Immediately wash affected area with lots of water.
After contact with eyes:
– Immediately rinse eyes under running water for several
minutes; consult a physician.
Always wear safety goggles and appropriate safety clothing when
handling damaged batteries.
Place damaged batteries in an acid-resistant receptacle
immediately after removing them.
Only ever transport damaged batteries in an appropriate
acid-resistant receptacle.
Wash all objects that have come into contact with acid with
lots of water.
Disposing of dead or damaged batteries correctly
Dead or damaged batteries can be given back to your provider or
directly to Invacare.
Main fuse
CAUTION!
Risk of fire
A short circuit can cause extremely high currents which
can result in spark formation and fire.
– Always use an original strip fuse with the approved
amperage.
– If the main fuse has blown, first rectify the cause before
fitting a new one.
Fitting original strip fuse in the correct sequence
1.
Strip fuse (1)
2.
Spade terminal (2)
3.
DIN 6923 nut (3)
Tools:
4 mm slotted screwdriver
Strip fuse
8 mm socket spanner
Torque wrench 0-20 Nm (or similar)
A spare fuse is located behind the Invacare logo on the rear
battery.
