CVX‐18S/CVX‐21S ‐ Rear Panel
The CVX‐18S/CVX‐21S powered subwoofer features an assortment of controls and connections
similar to the CVX‐10/CVX‐15 but unique to the needs of this subwoofer. It is suggested to review
the rear panel, as listed below, to take full advantage of the product features.
(A) SIGNAL/CLI P IND ICAT OR
Each of the inputs has a LED for status on the incoming audio signal – green for good, red for clipping.
The indicator turns red when the audio signal is clipping and adjustments must be made to avoid
amplifier shutdown and poor sound quality.
(B) I NP UT 1 & I NPUT 2 I NP UT JACKS
A combination input allows for both XLR and ¼" TRS cable types.
(C) THRU 1 & THRU 2 OUTP UT JACKS
The balanced XLR output is a parallel connection to the respective INPUT 1 and INPUT 2. The level
controls for INPUT 1 & INPUT 2 will not affect the signal on the direct output connection.
(D) LINK OUTPUT
This is a balanced XLR output that is the sum of the two input channels. This output is not affected
by changes to the MAIN LEVEL knob but is affected by the levels set on each channel level knob. This
connection is designed to provide an output which combines both channels together for connecting
to an additional CVX subwoofer.
(E) MAIN VOLUM E KNOB & REMOTE VOLUME CONTROL
It is highly recommended to have the MAIN LEVEL set to the minimum (MIN) level upon initial system
start‐up and it can be adjusted two different ways. On the MAIN LEVEL knob, volume is increased in
a clockwise rotation and decreased in a counter‐clockwise rotation. Another method to control the
volume is by using the REMOTE connection. A removable three‐terminal jack can be wired over long
distances to a remote volume control device with a corresponding connection.
