Troubleshooting

What appears troublesome may be easily remedied. Here are some problems that may occur and
their remedies. Before contacting a Pentax service center, check the following items.
Symptoms
The shutter cannot be
released.
Indicators do not appear on
the LCD panel.
Focus is not precise in the
picture.
Film winding is very heavy.
The first frame (or the last
frame) was cut off on the film.

The last frame is exposed.
The main switch is set to d.
The low battery warning H
appears.
The Self-Timer Mode is set.
The film is not winded.

No batteries have been installed.
The batteries are improperly
installed.
The batteries are dead.
The pressure plate has not been set
to the proper position.

properly set.
Remedies
Remove the film.
Set the main switch to i.
Replace the batteries.
Cancel the Self-Timer Mode.
Wind the film.
Set the main switch to i.
Install the batteries.
Install the batteries properly.
Replace the batteries.
Set the pressure plate according to
the film type.
Set the pressure plate according to
