Inserting/Removing

CAUTION
●
Do not insert/remove the multimedia pocket device in the standby or hibernation
mode, or when the hard disk drive indicator (
●
Do not select [Standby] or [Hibernate] as the setting for [When I close the lid of my
portable computer] in [Control Panel] - [Power Options] - [Advanced].

Removing the device

Turn the computer over.

Press and hold the MP release button (A), then slide the device.
CAUTION
●
Handle the device as shown (holding both sides). Otherwise,
the device may be damaged. Also, do not apply excessive
downward force on the device.

Inserting the device
Gently insert the device into the multimedia pocket until it clicks into place.
CAUTION
●
Do not insert the device upside-down.
The bottom of the drive may become disfigured.
Insert the device with the label side facing up.
NOTE
●
You can confirm whether the device is properly recognized or not by selecting the
icon* on the taskbar or [Information] in the Setup Utility. If the device is not recog-
nized (or if a CD/DVD cannot be read or a CD-R/CD-RW cannot be read or written
to), power off the computer and reinsert the device.
