Problem

Possible Cause
The flash
provided too
much light.
You used EV
Compensation
when you
should not have.
A natural or
artificial source
other than the
flash provided
too much light.
The scene had
many dark
objects, such as
a black object
on a dark
background.
The Display
Brightness
needs to be
adjusted.
Solution
• Turn the flash off (see
page 26).
• Move back from the subject.
Set EV Compensation to 0.0
(see page 38).
• Try taking the picture from a
different angle.
• Avoid pointing the camera
directly toward a bright light
or reflective surface on a
sunny day.
• Decrease EV Compensation
(see page 38).
Decrease the EV Compensation
(see page 38).
Set the Display Brightness in
the Setup Menu to Low or
Medium (see page 60).
