Using the timers

Using the play/record timer
The timer can be set as an alarm or radio recorder. Play timer
and record timer cannot be used together.
Preparations:
Turn the unit on and set the clock (\ page 8).
Timer Action
Play timer Prepare the music source you want to listen
to; tape, CD, radio or aux, and set the volume.
Record timer Check the cassette's erasure prevention tabs
(\ page 21), insert the cassette and tune to
the radio station (\ page 9) or select the aux
source (\ page 25).

Press [SHIFT] + [CLOCK/TIMER] to select:
Every time you press the button:
CLOCK
PLAY

Timer To
CLOCK set the clock.

set the record timer.

Setting the start and finish times
(Within 3 seconds)

starting time.
Press [SHIFT] + [CLOCK/TIMER].

Press [4 4 4 4 4 /REW/4] or [3 3 3 3 3 /FF/¢] to select the

finishing time.
Press [SHIFT] + [CLOCK/TIMER].
Turning the timer on

Press [SHIFT] + [˚ ˚ ˚ ˚ ˚ PLAY/REC] to select:
Every time you press the button:

˚ ˚ ˚ ˚ ˚ PLAY turn on the play timer.
˚ ˚ ˚ ˚ ˚ REC turn on the record timer.
No display turn off.
(The indicator doesn't appear if the start and finish times or
the clock haven't been set.)

Press [y y y y y ] to turn off the unit and timer will start.
Timer Action
Play timer Play will start in the set condition at
the set time with volume increasing
gradually to the set level.
Record timer The unit comes on 30 seconds before
the set time with the volume muted.
