TROUBLESHOOTING

GENERAL ________________________________________________________________

The troubleshooting chart below lists basic problems that may occur during start-up and operation. For more detailed
information, contact your area Jacobsen Dealer.
Symptoms
Engine will not

Possible Causes
Choke in wrong position.
Empty fuel tank or dirty fuel.
Fuel Shut-off valve closed.
Engine / Spark Plug.
Engine switch off.
Choke in wrong position.
Dirty or incorrect fuel.
Loose Wiring.
Air intake plugged.
Vent in fuel cap plugged.
Parking brake engaged.
Traction clutch disengaged.
Reel clutch disengaged.
Broken Belt.
Reel to bedknife not adjusted.
Reel clutch disengaged.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Action
1.
See Engine Manual.
2.
Drain and refill fuel tank with fresh, clean fuel.
3.
Open fuel shut-off valve.
4.
See Engine Manual.
5.
Turn engine switch to On.
1.
See Engine Manual.
2.
Refill with proper grade, clean fuel.
3.
Check spark plug wire.
4.
Clean air intake and air cleaner.
5.
Clean fuel cap.
1.
Disengage parking brake.
2.
Engage traction clutch.
3.
Engage reel clutch.
4.
Check and replace belts as needed.
1.
Adjust Reel to Bedknife.
2.
Engage reel clutch.
