    I. Introduction Thank you for purchasing the ASUS AGP-V1326 2D/3D DVD Accelerator. With the SiS 6326 built in, the ASUS AGP-V1326 provides you with fast acceleration in both 2D/3D graphics, NTSC/PAL TV-OUT, MPEG-2/1 video decoder, and high quality scalable video playback, which can fully support 3D Gaming and Multime- dia Applications.

    JP1: Use this to select the standard to be used for the TV output. Place a jumper over JP1 to use PAL (default) or remove to use NTSC standard. JP2: Use PCI INT A setting to properly assign the AGP-V1326’s interrupt. Assign INT A by setting jumper JP2 to Enable , which is the default.

    Recording Devices RCA Plug NOTES: • ASUS Video cards come in either NTSC or PAL standards. • You may not convert NTSC to PAL or vice versa. • You must use the same standard for all devices. NOTE: Components enclosed in dotted boxes can only be used or are available only in the AGP-V1326 model.

    1. Install the ASUS AGP-V1326 display drivers with your current VGA card. 2. Shut down your computer and unplug all electrical cords. 3. Replace the existing VGA card with the ASUS AGP-V1326 2D/3D DVD Accelerator. 4. Restart your computer — the ASUS AGP-V1326 should be automatically de- tected and the display drivers automatically updated.

    Both Windows 95 and Windows 95 OSR2.0 support AGP cards, but to take advan- tage of all the AGP features, you must use Win95 OSR 2.1 or later and install the ASUS VGARTD driver (see III. Windows 95, 2. Install VGARTD). To install Win95 OSR2.1, you must have OSR2.0 installed already. Otherwise, first install OSR2.0 and then use the USB support update to upgrade to OSR2.1.

    1. Installation for an Installed ASUS AGP-V1326 “New hardware found” refers to the prompt for drivers when installing Windows 95 with the ASUS AGP-V1326 2D/3D DVD Accelerator already installed. This Manual assumes that your CD-ROM disc drive is drive D: and that Windows 95 is in C:\Windows.

    III. Windows 95 2. Install VGARTD Insert the ASUS AGP-V1326 installation CD. The ASUS AGP-V1326 Install Shell will appear. If it does not appear, run D:\setup.exe. You will be presented with a list of install options. Click Install VGARTD. A message appears that shows your Windows 95 version or build and the versions with which the AGP features of your card will work.

    Modes, TV Output, or Gamma Correction, de- pending on your mode setting. For the ASUS AGP-V1326 display utilities, an ASUS AGP-V1326 Vx.xx (default program folder) program group will be created and shown onscreen. Three icons will be created in the program group: (1) Multimedia Manager: Creates a shortcut bar on your desktop for single-click access to the ASUS AGP-V1326 Vx.xx display utilities.

    Windows displays 4.2 TV Output The TV Output tab will be added if your AGP-V1326 came with either S-Video or Composite connector or both, you had connected your TV to one of these connec- tors (S-Video provides better quality) and turned it on, and you are in either of these modes: 640 x 480 x 60Hz for NTSC or 800 x 600 x 50Hz for PAL.

    5. Video Driver Uninstallation If you want to install other graphics cards or if you no longer need the AGP-V1326 display drivers, you can use one of the following procedures to completely uninstall the drivers from Windows 95 to save disk space.

    Software MPEG support in Windows 95, you must first install the Microsoft DirectX 5 libraries, then you may install the MPEG Video Player. Reinsert the ASUS AGP-V1326 installa- tion CD or double-click the CD drive icon in My Computer to bring up the autorun screen.

    7. Install Video Player PowerPlayer is a video player that allows you to view VCD (*.DAT) or MPEG (*.MPG) CD titles. Reinsert the ASUS AGP-V1326 installa- tion CD or double-click the CD drive icon in My Computer to bring up the autorun screen.

    III. Windows 95 8. ASUS SoftDVD (optional) ASUS SoftDVD is a software-only DVD player that enables you, through the DVD/ MPEG-II hardware acceleration of the ASUS AGP-V1326 plus the appropriate sys- tem, to take advantage of the much-talked about DVD technology.

    IV. Windows 3.x 1. Installation for an Installed ASUS AGP-V1326 This Manual assumes that you have already installed your ASUS AGP-V1326 VGA card and your CD-ROM disc drive is drive D: and that Windows 3.x is in C:\Windows. Replace either with the actual drive name or path, if necessary.

Display Utilities To run the display utilities, double-click the ASUS AGP-V1326 Vx.xx program group icon in the Program Manager, then double-click SVGA Setup among the program icons. The SiS VGA System Configuration dialog box will appear with several options to configure your VGA system.

    ASUS AGP-V1326. DCI is also known as DirectDraw . DirectDraw can provide applications, such as games, direct access to features of the ASUS AGP-V1326, such as acceleration. The DCI driver also allows for software MPEG playback and other media player programs that can take advantage of DCI.

    9. After completing the installation, NT 4.0 will go back to the Change Display Type screen. 10. Click Close or Apply. 11. In System Settings Change, select Yes to restart your computer. 12.     2. DirectX version is not 5.0 or later. 3. You have not installed the appropriate drivers for the AGP chipset (for example, VGARTD.VXD for Intel 440LX, which the ASUS installation program automatically installs). 4. Incorrect BIOS setting. BIOS must support at least 32MB for AGP aperture size.
