This appliance is equippedwith a
power cord havinga grounding
wire with a grounding plug. The
plug must be pluggedinto an outlet
that is properly installed and

Consult a qualified electrician or
service technician if the grounding
instructions are not completely
understood, or if doubt exists as to
whether the appliance is properly
grounded.
Where a standard two-prong wall
receptacle is encountered, it is
your personal responsibility and
obligation to have it replaced with
a properly grounded three-prong

The larger slot in the adapter must
be aligned with the larger slotin the
wall receptacle to provideproper
polarity in the connection of the
powercord.
Caution: Attachingthe

coverscrewismetal,andnot
insulated,andthewallreceptacle is

Becauseofpotentialsafetyhazards

recommendagainstthe useof an
extensioncord. However,if it is
necessaryto use an extensioncord,
use only a 3-wireextensioncord
that has a 3-bladegroundingplug,
and a 3-slot receptaclethat will
accept the plug on the appliance.
The marked rating of the extensim
cord shallbe equalto or greater
than the electrical rating of the
appliance (15amperes).
Such extensioncords are obtainable
through General Electric service.
It'you do use an extensioncord
with your microwaveovenythe
interior light mayflicker and the
blower sound mayvary when oven
is in use. Cook and defrost times
may be longer as well.
