Pause (for PBX/long distance service
users)
A pause is sometimes required when making
calls using a PBX or long distance service.
When storing a calling card access number
and/or PIN in the phonebook, a pause is also
needed (page 32).
Example: If you need to dial the line access
number "0" when making outside calls with a
PBX:

0 a MDN (Pause)

Dial the phone number. a M
Note:
R A 3 second pause is inserted each time MDN
(Pause) is pressed.

Answering calls

Lift the handset and press M
when the unit rings.
R To answer a mobile call, you can also
press M N.

When you finish talking, press M
place the handset on the base unit or
charger.
Any key answer: You can answer the call by
pressing any dial key.
Auto talk: You can answer calls simply by
lifting the handset (page 40).
Temporary handset ringer off: You can turn
the ringer off temporarily by pressing M
Using the Smart Function Key
When the
indicator flashes rapidly, press
M
N.
R You can answer the call even if the handset
is placed on the base unit or charger
(page 18).
You can finish talking by pressing M
without lifting up the handset.
Adjusting the handset ringer volume
Press MDN or MCN repeatedly to select the
desired volume while ringing.

Using the base unit
When a landline call is being received, the Z
indicator flashes rapidly. When a mobile call is
being received,

To release hold on the mobile line:

R Another handset user can take the call:

The call is taken when:
– only 1 mobile phone is paired.
– a specific line is set to make
mobile calls (page 23).
R The base unit user can take the call by
pressing MZN.
To release hold on the landline:

R The base unit user can take the call by
