≥ If you turn off the power or operate the mode dial, the backlight compensation function is cancelled.
≥ If you turn off the power, the self-timer function is cancelled.

Soft skin mode

This makes the image brighter to prevent darkening of a
backlit subject.
When you start recording, the image/audio gradually
appears. (Fade in)
When you pause recording, the image/audio gradually
disappears. (Fade out)
≥ After the image/audio completely disappears, the recording
stops and the fade setting is cancelled.

Select the menu. (l 24)
[ADVANCED] # [FADE COLOUR] # [WHITE] or [BLACK]
This explains the recording functions. (Only for icons that
can be selected in auto mode)
Select the desired icon with the joystick to
display an explanation on the screen.

To exit the help mode

Press the MENU button or select [EXIT].
This allows you to record colour subjects in dark locations
to stand out against the background.
≥ Minimum required illumination: approx. 2 lx
≥ Attach this unit to a tripod, and you can record images free
from vibration.
≥ If it is difficult to focus, adjust the focus manually. (l 46)
This makes skin colours appear softer for a more attractive
appearance.
This is more effective if you record a person closely from the
torso up.
