2. To install the solid state drive with the storage converter into the 3.5-inch hard disk drive bracket, flex
the bracket and align pin

3. Connect the signal cable and the power cable to the new solid state drive.
4. Install the solid state drive into the desired hard disk drive bay. See "Replacing the hard disk drive"
on page 33.

Replacing the hard disk drive

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the "Important
safety information" on page vii.
This section provides instructions on how to replace the hard disk drive.
Note: Depending on your model type, your computer might come with a 2.5-inch solid state drive. To install
the solid state drive, see "Installing the solid state drive" on page 32.
To replace the hard disk drive, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect
all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.
2. Open the computer cover. See "Opening the computer cover" on page 28.
3. Disconnect the power cable from the optical drive first.
