Changing the Flash Mode

You can change the flash mode to match the shooting scene. For details
on the flash range, see "Flash Range" ( = 134).
If the flash fires, vignetting may occur.

Auto

Fires automatically in low-light conditions.
On
Fires for each shot.

Off

Prepare the camera for shooting without the flash as follows.
If a blinking [
halfway in camera-shake inducing, low-light conditions, mount the
camera on a tripod or take other measures to keep it still.

Configure the settings.
Touch [
] button, choose [ ] in
the menu, and choose the desired flash
mode ( = 27).
The option you configured is now
displayed.
] icon is displayed when you press the shutter ring

Changing the IS Mode Settings

Access the setting screen.
Touch [
then touch [IS Settings] on the [
choose it ( = 28).

Configure the settings.
Choose [IS Mode], and then choose the
desired option ( = 28).
Optimal image stabilization for the shooting conditions
Continuous
is automatically applied (Intelligent IS) ( = 39).
Image stabilization is active only at the moment of
Shoot Only*
shooting.
Off
Deactivates image stabilization.
* The setting is changed to [Continuous] for movie recording.
If image stabilization cannot prevent camera shake, mount the
camera on a tripod or take other measures to hold it still. In this
case, set [IS Mode] to [Off].
