Replacing the computer stand

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the "Read
this first: Important safety information" on page iii.
To replace the computer stand, refer to the following topics:

• "Replacing the monitor stand" on page 53
Replacing the frame stand
To replace the frame stand, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Place a soft, clean towel or cloth on the desk or surface. Hold the sides of your computer and gently lay
it down so that the screen is against the surface and the computer cover is facing up.
3. Remove the screw that secures the frame stand. Then, lift the frame stand to remove it from the
computer cover.

4. Insert the two hooks
as shown. Then, pivot the frame stand downward so that the screw hole in the stand is aligned with
the corresponding hole in the computer cover.

5. Install the screw to secure the frame stand on the computer cover.
