Do not use a full stop at the end of a string if it is not a full sentence:
''Done,'' ''3 SIM contacts copied''
Use double quotes where the text is user-generated, e.g. for the name of a user's file:
''About to delete Contact card for ''N.N.'' Are you sure?''
Use three dots in messages to denote an ongoing process:
'Calling...,' 'Receiving...,' 'Playing...,' 'Ready to receive...,' 'Scanning for printer...,' 'Conversion in
progress...'.
Avoid using other than standard abbreviations. Note, also, that even if in English you have a standard abbreviation for
a word, in some other languages you may have to use the whole word ('Bcc' = 'Piilokopio' in Finnish).
