Testa
❍ Allentare i dadi della testata,
procedendo in diagonale ed in
modo uniforme, utilizzando
l'attrezzo cod. 88713.2096 abbinato
ad una chiave a cricchetto.
❍ Estrarre il gruppo testa, sfilandolo
con cautela. Se necessario, per
sbloccare la testa dall'eventuale
"incollatura" sul cilindro, utilizzare un
mazzuolo in plastica, battendo
piccoli colpi alla base ed in diversi
punti, sempre con estrema cautela.
❍ Rimuovere dadi e rondelle,
quindi sfilare completamente la
testa.
Importante
In occasione dello smontaggio
della testa, verificare lo stato
generale di ogni componente della
testa stessa per evitare eventuali
perdite di olio o acqua, prevedendo
in questi casi la sostituzione delle
guarnizioni, anelli O-ring, ecc...
Coperchi delle teste
❍ Per effettuare in completa
sicurezza, tutte le operazioni di
smontaggio, rimontaggio e
revisione delle teste, la DUCATI
mette a disposizione (a richiesta) la
base cod. 88713.2103, sulla quale la
testa può essere fissata sfruttando
due dadi originali; la struttura della
base consente il suo bloccaggio in
morsa.
Importante
Durante le fasi di smontaggio
dei componenti della testa, è
consigliabile disporli in sequenza
oppure contrassegnarli al fine di

rimontarli esattamente come in
origine.
❍ Rimuovere il raccordo acqua (1)
(da entrambi i cilindri) agendo sulle
tre viti ad esagono incassato (2).

Recuperare la guarnizione OR.
❍ Rimuovere il collettore
d'aspirazione (3) agendo sui dadi (4)

e recuperare la guarnizione (5).
❍ Rimuovere i coperchi di
ispezione valvole (6) lato aspirazione
e lato scarico, agendo sulle viti ad
esagono incassato (7). Recuperare la
guarnizione (8).
❍ Rimuovere la flangia (9) di

chiusura foro acqua agendo sulle viti
(10) e recuperare la guarnizione OR
(11).
Cylinder head
❍ Working diagonally, loosen the
cylinder head nuts evenly using
service tool part no. 88713.2096
with a ratchet wrench.
❍ Pull out the cylinder head slightly.
Gently tap base at different
positions with a plastic hammer, if
necessary.
❍ Remove the nuts and the
washers and pull out the cylinder
head completely.
Caution
While removing the head,
check for proper working conditions
of all head parts, possible leaks, oil
or water dripping. Change seals and
O-rings, if necessary.
Head covers
❍ For a safe head disassembly,
assembly and overhaul, DUCATI
shall supply (on request) stand part
no. 88713.2103 to which the head
can be fitted using two original nuts.
The stand structure allows vicing.
Caution
When disassembling
components in the cylinder head,
they must be laid out carefully and
marked so that they can be
reassembled in their exact position.
❍ Unscrew the three Allen screws
(2) and remove the water connector
(1) (from both cylinders).
Keep the O-ring.
❍ Unscrew the nuts (4) and remove
the intake manifold (3). Keep the
gasket (5).
❍ Unscrew the Allen screws (7) and
remove the valve covers (6) on
intake and exhaust side. Keep the
gasket (8).
❍ Unscrew the screws (10) and
remove the water hole flange (9).
Keep the O-ring (11).
