A gap may form between the countertop and the cooktop. For this reason, there is a
flexible seal all around the cooktop. Due to the characteristics of the material, there
can be irregularities in the glass ceramic surface. Because of the mirror-smooth
surface of the cooktop, it is possible for even the smallest of bubbles, less than 1
mm in diameter, to be visible. They are not detrimental either to the functionality or
the durability of the glass ceramic cooking surface.
