    This chapter describes how to perform network management tasks with your Wireless Router. Backing Up, Restoring, or Erasing Your Settings The configuration settings of the router are stored in a configuration file in the router. This file can be backed up to your computer, restored, or reverted to factory default settings. The procedures below explain how to do these tasks.

    The software of the router is stored in flash memory, and can be upgraded as new software is released by NETGEAR. Upgrade files can be downloaded from the NETGEAR website. If the upgrade file is compressed (a .zip file), you must first extract the binary (.bin or .img) file before uploading it to the router.
