OPERATING INCIDENTS
On the open road
• Abnormal white smoke from the
exhaust.
• Smoke under the bonnet.
• The oil pressure warning light
illuminates:
- when cornering or braking.
- on idling
- is slow to extinguish or remains
illuminated on acceleration.
• Engine loses power.
• Idling unsteady or engine stalls.

CAUSES
Mechanical defect: cylinder head
gasket blown.
Short circuit.
Coolant circuit fault.
Oil level too low.
Oil pressure too low.
Loss of oil pressure.
Clogged air filter.
Fuel supply faulty.
Faulty spark plugs, incorrectly set.
Lack of compression (spark plugs,
ignition, air leak).
REMEDIAL ACTION
Stop the engine.
Consult a Renault Dealer.
Stop, turn the ignition off, disconnect
the battery.
Consult a Renault Dealer.
Top up the oil.
Consult the nearest Renault Dealer.
Stop: call for assistance from Renault
Dealer.
Change element.
Check fuel level.
Consult a Renault Dealer.
