• The fan control is located at the front of the control panel To operate the ventilation
system manually, turn the fan control knob clockwise. The variable speed fan can
be operated at an infinite number of settings.
• Besides using the ventilation system to remove cooking vapors and fumes, it can
be used to cool baked pies, cakes or hot pans. To cool an _em, set it on the air grille
and turnon thefan. The airbeingpulledoverthe itemwillquicklycoolit. Becareful
notto cover the entire air grille.
• The fan can be used to removestrongodorsfrom the kitchenas when chopping
onionsnear the fan.
Air Grille
The air grillelifts off easily. Wipecleanorwashinsinkwithmildhousehold detergents. I t may
becleanedinthedishwasher.
Filter
Turn off ventilationsystem beforeremoving. T he filterisa
permanent t ypeandshould becleanedwhensoiled.Clean
insinkwithwarmwaterandliquid dishwashing d etergent o r
indishwasher.
Important: DO NOT OPERATE SYSTEM WITHOUTFIL-
TER.Filter should alwaysbeplaced atanangle.Asyouface
thefront ofthecooktop, thebottom ofthefilter shouldreston
the ledgeonthe rightside. The topofthe filtershouldrest
against the leftside.Thereare alsoledgesonthefrontand
rearsidesforthefilter torest.(Note: Iffilterisflatagainst t he
fan wall,ventilation effectiveness i sreduced.)
Ventilation Chamber
Thisarea,which houses thefilter, s hould becleaned intheeventofspills orwhenever itbecomes
coatedwithafilmof grease.Itmaybecleaned withpapertowel, d ampcloth, o rsponge andmild
household detergent o rcleanser.
