    Operating Instructions 1.1 Getting to know the Network Camera 1.1.1 Main features Easy installation Setup CD-ROM simplifies the installation. Insert the Setup CD-ROM and autorun should start the application automatically. This programme automatically finds the Network Camera on the network. High Speed Motion JPEG Using the Network Camera integrated web server, Motion JPEG, up to 15 frames per second (when Power Line Frequency is 60 Hz), can be displayed.
  • Page 7 Operating Instructions I/O (Input/Output) Connector I/O connector consists of the digital input/output terminal. The external sensors/devices such as a door sensor can connect to the digital input terminal. The external sensors/devices are customer provided. Any required custom interface is the customer's responsibility. The alarm/timer trigger can activate the Image Transfer feature which can send the images via e-mail or FTP (File Transfer Protocol).

    Operating Instructions 1.1.3 Authentication—System Security feature Authentication window requires you to enter the administrator/general user ID and password. Password security can prevent the unregistered user from accessing your image from their web browsers. Authentication windows are not displayed in the default.     Operating Instructions 1.4 Network Camera Installation This section explains how you can install the Network Camera. Network Camera has a integrated web server. Various types of networking are available. 1.4.1 Connecting the Cable and the Power Supply Connection of the Network Camera to the PC or network device is made with category 5 cable.

    Operating Instructions 1.4.2 Selecting the Network Camera Configuration The Network Camera is available on a small and large scale of network. The Network Camera can connect over the Internet. The Network Camera has the HTTP server. Please confirm the ISP (Internet Service Provider) or administrator permit you to use the HTTP server.

    Operating Instructions 1.4.3 Simple Installation using the Setup CD-ROM Setup CD-ROM simplifies the installation. Insert the Setup CD-ROM and autorun should start the application automatically. This programme automatically finds the Network Camera on the network. Once you become more familiar with the Network Camera, Setup Page on Page 44 configures all of its settings.
  • Page 19 Operating Instructions Click [Network Configuration]. The Network Camera List window appears. The Setup programme finds all the Network Cameras connected on the LAN. The Network Camera List window lists all of the MAC addresses and IP addresses of the Network Camera on the network. Note The software on the Setup CD-ROM assists you with the installation of the Network Camera.
  • Page 20 Operating Instructions Notes • Each Network Camera has a unique MAC address labelled on the back as 00-80-f0-XX-XX-XX. ("X" is the number 0–9 or alphabet a–f.) • The MAC address tells you which Network Camera you would like to set up by confirming the rear side of the target Network Camera in case there are many Network Cameras on the LAN.

Please refer to Page 29 for the detail of each parameter. Setting parameters differ depending on the Network Camera Configuration type.     Operating Instructions 2.2.1 Viewing the Top View Image screen The Top View Image screen consists of Single Camera and Multi-Camera screen. Single Camera screen has the Operation Bar on the left. Single Camera screen has an image field. The Operation Bar can control the image resolution, image quality and image size.

  • Page 40 Operating Instructions Buffered Image screen Buffered Image screen can be viewed by clicking [Viewer] on the Operation Bar. Buffered Image is saved in the internal memory of Network Camera. The image can be buffered in the Image Transfer on Page 57. Buffered Image is erased by power off, restarting, Update Firmware, resetting to Factory Default and when the Image Transfer or Name/Time window is saved and clicking [Start Capture].
  • Page 41 Operating Instructions [Start Capture] : [Start Capture] saves the individual images to the internal memory. Images are captured at fixed intervals, typically ranging 5–100 seconds. Network traffic, PC performance and image resolution influence the refreshing interval. The resolution is the same as the current image settings.

The Pan/Tilt operation cannot be operated on the Multi-Camera screen. You can connect to each individual Network Camera by clicking on the Camera Name.

    Operating Instructions 2.3 Setup window—General Overview Setup Page controls all features of the Network Camera. The authentication window can keep the network security. It enables only administrator to access the Setup Page by entering ID and Password. Enter "http://IP Address :Port no./config.html" on the web browser and press [Enter] of the keyboard.

    Operating Instructions 2.3.1 Setting up the Network Camera Go to Top Page Clicking [Go to Top Page] on the Setup Page. The Top Page accesses the Single Camera and Multi-Camera screen in Motion JPEG/JPEG-Regularly Refresh.

Up to 20 individual user names can be defined. The various security levels are explained on Page 52.

    Operating Instructions Image Transfer Image Transfer window can set the Image Transfer feature. The Network Camera can buffer images and send the images via e-mail or FTP. The request to send the image is initiated by a contact closure from an external sensors/ devices connected to the I/O Connector using the Alarm mode.

Registering IP addresses of the other Network Camera enables you to view on the Multi-Camera screen. Clicking the Camera Name on the Multi-Camera screen accesses the Single Camera screen to control the image.

    Operating Instructions Indicator Control Indicator Control window sets Power and Ethernet Indicator on/off. The Power and Ethernet Indicator will be turned on in the default. They can be off even in the operation. The off setting disables all the Power and Ethernet Indicator blinking. Please refer to Page 12 for the Power Indicator blinking.

    Operating Instructions Update Firmware Update Firmware window allows the user to install the latest version of the Network Camera internal operating system. In most cases, this will never be necessary. The present firmware has undergone extensive testing and was found to be very reliable.
  • Page 75 Operating Instructions Click [Update Firmware] on the Setup Page. The process may take 3–5 minutes. Click [Update Firmware]. Please wait about 1 minute. Note If you click [Update Firmware], operation cannot be cancelled. If cancelled, please refer to 4.4 Troubleshooting.

    Operating Instructions 3.1 Maintenance To keep the Network Camera in the good condition, maintenance plays an important part. Please keep maintenance when using the Network Camera. Network Camera • Network Camera is intended for indoor use only. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or halogen light may damage the CMOS sensor.

    Operating Instructions 3.3 Interfacing to the I/O Connector The Alarm mode in the Image Transfer feature requires the external sensors/ devices to be connected to the digital input terminal of the I/O Connector. The sensor is customer provided and can be a door sensor or infrared ray intruder sensor.

    Operating Instructions 3.4 Proxy Server Setting The proxy server may prevent you from connecting directly to the Network Camera in some corporate environments. The web browser can set up the IP address communication without the proxy server. Please discuss the installation with the ISP or network administrator.

IP address of the PC has to be on the same network to be able to access to the Network Camera. If Top Page appears, Network Camera has no defect. Push CLEAR SETTING button illustrated on Page 90.

    Operating Instructions 4.1 Network Camera reset procedure—default settings If the user forgets the settings or passwords, the Network Camera can be easily reset to the default settings. With power on, press the CLEAR SETTING button for about 1 second. The Power Indicator in the front of the Network Camera fades away for about 25 seconds, and blinks for another 25 seconds when the Pan/Tilt motors will set to the centre position.
