the surface
of the thermal
switch.
The
thermal
switch MUST
be replaced
if it is damaged.
Step 7 -- Oil Burner
(Also refer to the burner
manufacturer's
instructions.)
This furnace
is supplied
with a high-pressure
atomizing
retention
head-type
burner
(for use with grade
1 or 2 Fuel Oil). The burner
comes equipped
with a .5GPH nozzle.
However,
if another
size or
a
replacement
nozzle
is
required,
use
the
manufacturer's
recommended
spray
angle
and
type
as
shown
in
Technical
Specifications.
Always
select nozzle
sizes by working
back from
the
desired
flow
rate
at operating
pressure
and not
the nozzle
marking.
For detailed
instructions
on changing
nozzles,
refer to
instructions
provided
with
oil burner.
The
oil pump
is set to
operate
on a single
line system.
To operate
on a two-line
system
the by-pass
plug must be installed.
Refer to instructions
provided
with burner.
Installation
1. Remove
nuts from mounting
flange.
2. Position
the mounting
gasket between
the mounting
flange
and the burner
mounting
plate.
3. Align the holes in the burner
mounting
plate with the
studs
on the mounting
flange
and bolt securely
in place.
NOTE:
Regardless
of orientation
of furnace,
burner
should
always be installed
in the upright
position.
4. Make the electrical
connections.
5. Complete
oil line connections.
Oil Pressure
Regulator
The oil pressure
regulator
is factory
set to give oil pressure
of 145
psig for an input
of 84,000
Btuh.
Other
firing
rates
noted
on
nameplate
may be obtained
using the nozzles
and pump pressures
indicated
in Table 4.
An adjustment
screw
and connection
for a
pressure
gauge
are
located
on
the
oil
pump
for
necessary
adjustments.
Refer
to
instructions
supplied
with
burner
for
adjustment
procedure.
