Designer Series Direct Vent Gas Fireplace

LOG PLACEMENT

1. Hold log #1 with the rounded end opposite the pilot.
NOTE: Log #1 is designed to not be symmetrical. Place
log #1 aligning the two (2) pins provided making sure to
fi t the notches in the bottom of the log over the sides of
the grate so that it sits fi rmly in place. The log will rest
on the grate bar about 1/4" over the top of the burner
surface. Figure 60

2. Place log #2 so the fat end of the log rests on the 2nd
tine of the grate (opposite the pilot) and the thin, right
end of the log sits on top of the key provided on the end
of log #1 closest to the pilot. Figure 61

FIREPLACE INSTALLATION
3. Position log #3 on the key provided on the rounded end
of log #1. The other end sits on the "false-bottom hearth"
(the sheet metal surrounding the burner and supporting
the grate), just outside of the grate. The base of the log
should be about 1" from the end of log #2. Figure 62

4. On the remaining key on the top of log #1 (in the center),
place log #4 with the charred area of the log facing down
and toward the nearest glass. The other end of the log
rests on the second tine from the end closest to the
pilot. Figure 63
